BUDAPEST--Hungary's government is motioning legal changes to take the country's natural gas reserves into state control, political daily Nepszabadsag reported over the weekend.

The bill submitted by a government official stipulates that any natural gas storage sites of strategic importance would be in state control, and that the state would have a purchase option for any existing ones constructed by private enterprises.

Hungary currently has one such site, built and operated by MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU)
