BUDAPEST--Hungary's largest oil and gas firm MOL Nyrt. (MOL.BU)
has started early production from the Akri Bijeel Block in the
Kurdistan region of Iraq, it announced in a stock exchange filing
Thursday.
MAIN FACTS:
- Early production through the Bijell-1B well is around 3,500
barrel per day.
- "Promising" test results are also coming from the Bijell-2
well, MOL said. This well is planned to be tied in to the Extended
Well Test (EWT) facility by the end of August.
- Drilling of the Bijell-4 well is ongoing, while the spud of
Bijell-6 well is expected in March. Both are planned to be tied in
to the EWT by year-end.
- MOL is the operator of the block with a 80% stake, and Gulf
keystone Petroleum International Ltd. (GKP.LN) owns the remaining
20%.
- MOL was trading up 0.7% Thursday before noon, at
HUF12,635.
