PRSA/NJ conferred the honors at its annual Pyramid Awards banquet held last night at the Highlawn Pavilion in West Orange. Emma has spent her career moving easily in these three very different realms -- in politics, in public service and in private enterprise. In all three she has exhibited a commitment to the highest level of integrity and has also taken the time to instill her knowledge and expertise with individuals entering the field. She has regularly given lectures to college classes and made presentations to women and minority groups. She has unselfishly given to those she works with and for, and has served as a role model for a countless number of PR professionals in the state. Emma's private sector experience has mainly been with PSE&G and its parent company PSEG. Originally overseeing a staff of five, she now manages more than 55 communications professionals in the areas of internal and external communications, as well as federal affairs for PSEG. This includes the company website and intranet, company paper and other communications tools, PSEG advertising and branding, media relations for the parent company and subsidiaries, and the company library and research staff. In 2003, Emma oversaw the highly successful efforts to celebrate PSEG's 100th anniversary. She also continues to direct efforts to influence the debate about federal energy policy and the company's public response to increased security.
