Appointment of Consultant and Award of Options

The Board of Shore Capital Group plc ("the Group" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that Jonathan Metliss, a
senior partner at SJ Berwin has been appointed a consultant to the Group. His role will be to assist with the
strategic development and marketing of the Group's services, with particular focus on assisting the growth of the
corporate finance function.
Jonathan Metliss, aged 54, was a founder member of SJ Berwin in 1982. He specialises in corporate finance work with an
emphasis on take-overs, mergers, acquisitions, financings and joint ventures, with a particular interest in the real
property, financial services, sport and retail sectors.
Amongst his various interests, he is a director of London Freeholds Plc, a member of Trade Partners UK, Africa and
Middle East Advisers, a member of the Israel - Britain Business Council and a director of the Southern Africa Business
Association.
The Board has granted Jonathan Metliss options over a total of up to 2,500,000 ordinary 2p shares in the Company.
These options will vest subject to the continuation of the consultancy and become exercisable in equal tranches, on 30
th June 2004, 30th June 2005 and 30th June 2006. The options are exercisable at 11p per share, with a last date for
exercise on the day 30 days after publication of the Group's interim results for the 6 months ending 30th June 2006.

Shore Capital announced on 5th June that it was reorganising its stockbroking, market-making and corporate finance
activities into a new subsidiary, ECMco, in which new and existing senior employees could be invited to participate.
On 18th June, it announced details of a highly regarded team covering research, institutional sales and corporate
finance which was joining its newly formed equity capital markets company. The team of twelve, who were formerly the "
Charterhouse" group within ING Barings, are the core of the team rated second in the UK in the last Reuters Smaller
Companies Survey. They are mostly based in the Liverpool area and Shore Capital is opening a Liverpool office as a
research and additional sales base.
Shore Capital activities include stockbroking, market-making in about 500 smaller cap securities and public company
corporate finance advice. Shore Capital also includes a specialist fund management activity running growth capital,
property and fund of hedge funds as well as private client asset management.
