TORONTO,
Oct. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - MillenMin
Ventures Inc. (TSX-V: MVM) ( "MillenMin" or the
"Company") is pleased to announce that it has completed a
preliminary prospecting program at its Highrock Lake NE Property
(the "Highrock property") and Smalley Lake W Property (the
"Smalley property"), situated in the eastern side of the
Athabasca basin, Northern Saskatchewan, Canada.
The prospecting program mainly included
prospecting, outcrop mapping, and checking of the old
mineralization showings. There is a historical uranium
mineralization showing within the Highrock Property. One trench of
about 15 meters long was dug in the centre of the showing in the
direction of 67 degrees NE. Mineralized pegmatite, which is light
grey in colour, likely experienced hydrothermal alteration.
One radioactive outcrop was identified as far as 1600 meters
north of the trenched area. Fifteen grab samples were collected
from the radioactive outcrops with the RS-125 and RS-230
scintillometer readings of 1,400 to 21,400 cps.
In the Smalley property, a strongly radioactive
area with outcrops of granitic gneiss or pegmatite was identified.
Scintillometers recorded readings of 7,000 to 28,000 cps from the
outcrops covering an area about 65m long and 40m wide. Nine grab
samples were collected from the Smalley property.
All grab samples were sent to SRC Geoanalytical
Laboratories, an ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accredited facility in
Saskatoon, for assaying of uranium
and other trace elements. Assay results are currently pending and
will be released as they become available.
The prospecting program was supervised by Dr.
Ping Dong, P.Geo., a consultant to
MillenMin and the qualified person as defined by NI 43-101. Dr.
Dong also reviewed and approved the technical information in this
news release.
