Corridor Communications Corporation Reports Expansion of Ash Creek
Wireless Serving Salem, Dallas, Monmouth and Independence, Oregon
Corridor's Ash Creek Plans Reported in July, 2004 Are Underway
Following the Expansion and Deployment of 2.4Ghz & 5.7Ghz Gear
to the 195,000 Household Coverage Area Acquired With Ash Creek
Wireless MESA, Ariz., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corridor
Communications Corporation (OTC:CORR) (BULLETIN BOARD: CORR) - Ash
Creek Wireless (ACW) serves its current customer base with two
primary tower locations and five Hybrid sites. With the recent
addition of Access Points directed toward the Salem area, ACW now
has sites serving a geographic area with a population of more than
195,000. These sites are all connected to a level one provider,
which is currently providing 4Mbps of bandwidth to support the
existing customer base. The Motorola Canopy 5.7Ghz technology
acquired from Ash Creek will enhance the method Corridor uses to
deploy Hybrid sites through out the community. Corridor's lower
subscriber acquisition costs and dealer incentive programs will
allow a faster and more competitive deployment to subscribers in
the new areas. In a rather unique business agreement, ACW is
purchasing fiber-optic bandwidth from Monmouth-Independence Network
(MINET) and distributing that bandwidth to customers. MINET also
provides ACW with equipment space (at a minimal fee) for routers,
switches, etc. at their fiber Point-of-Presence (POP). MINET also
provides ACW with transport services to deliver local business
customers directly to the ACW router via local fiber loop. In
further developments, ACW has been accepted as a certified ISP for
the new MINET broadband fiber service being installed to the entire
Monmouth/Independence community. At completion, the MINET service
will reach 8,000 households. "Our newest site will be located
southwest of Dallas, Oregon. We are leasing tower space and will be
providing our own outdoor enclosure at this site.
Point-to-Multipoint equipment will be mounted at the 185' level on
an existing monopole tower. This site will provide enhanced
coverage in Dallas and new coverage in the Kings Valley area,"
reports John Conley, VP of Broadband Services for Corridor
Communications. "With our MINET ISP Certification and our new
Dallas site, our coverage area will have expanded tremendously.
With that infrastructure in place, we will begin an aggressive
marketing rollout." J. Michael Heil Chief Executive Officer of the
Company said, "We have complete confidence with John, and we see
the Ash Creek deployment as a model of other successes we intend to
pursue. Big city technologies have come to rural America, and we
plan to extend our services to many additional communities. What
John has developed in the central Oregon region we see as a great
fit throughout Oregon and with our Arizona and Nevada cable
franchises." About Corridor Communications Headquartered in Mesa,
Arizona with operations in Oregon, Nevada and Arizona, Corridor
Communications, Inc. is an integrated wireless Internet service
provider (WISP) and Cable television provider offering high-speed
Internet, free and pay television, and data services to residents
and businesses. The Company plans to implement a
growth-through-acquisition strategy by targeting small to mid size
Cable providers and Dial Up Internet Service Providers (ISP) in
areas underserved by current broadband multi system operators. The
growth strategy will also focus on creating partnerships with
existing hot spot management companies while building company owned
hotspots to create ubiquitous coverage or "Hot Zones" that
encompass entire cities. Corridor's IP-Based technology supports
all hardware meeting Wi-Fi 802.11(x) standards operating in an
unlicensed spread spectrums (2.4 GHz and 5.7 GHz), and can be
deployed far less expensively than comparable copper and cable
technologies. The company also plans to leverage its network build
out for other services that may include voice and video. For more
