MOSCOW--Russia's United Capital Partners fund, which on April 17 announced the deal to purchase 48% of the country's most popular social network Vkontakte, said Wednesday it is interested in leading the company towards an initial public offering under the leadership of its founder Pavel Durov within the next five to six years.

"We are interested in the future growth and development of the project," Yury Kachuro, UCP's partner and chief lawyer said in a statement.

Among other Vkontakte shareholders are Russian Internet company Mail.Ru (MAIL.LN), which owns a 39.9% stake in the company, and Mr. Durov, who owns a 12% stake.
