PR Newswire (US)
NEW YORK, April 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SpectrumDNA (OTC
Bulletin Board: SPXA) has selected KCSA Strategic Communications as
its public and investor relations agency of record. SpectrumDNA, a
social media studio that creates digital network applications and
engines of engagement (or "Enginets") for web and wireless
properties, will work with KCSA to implement an integrated
strategic media relations program and investor relations campaign
to drive awareness of both the company and its applications. The
popular flagship application, Addictionary, a SaaS
(software-as-a-service) online dictionary that lets people create
their own words and definitions, recently won first prize in the
Amusement Category at the 12th Annual SXSW Interactive Web Awards
Ceremony. The Addictionary Network, which now reaches three million
unique visitors per month, has several licensing deals with major
media brands like E! Entertainment and FEARnet, Comedy Central and
NBC's "The Office." SpectrumDNA will rollout additional Enginet
applications in the coming months and will look to KCSA for
investor support as well as a robust traditional, online and social
media campaign. The company is led by Founder and CEO Jim Banister,
a 20-year entertainment, media and technology veteran. He spent
five years driving digital media programming for Warner Bros.
Online and spearheading its digital media strategy, first as Vice
President of Production & Technology and ultimately as Chief
Development Officer. He also designed and built the multi-media and
post-production systems for Steven Spielberg's "Survivors of the
Shoah Visual History Project" now housed at the University of
Southern California's Shoah Foundation Institute; and created TRW's
Engineering Visualization Center. A visionary in digital media, Mr.
Banister literally "wrote the book" on the techniques and trends
that have come to define the Web 2.0 era: "Word of Mouse: The New
Age of Networked Media" (Agate Fine Print, August 2004). Mr.
Banister stated, "The DNA in SpectrumDNA literally means 'digital
networked applications'; but it also refers to the invisible
underlying 'genetic code' of social media we've discovered, and the
methodology we've created for more predictably designing and
building social media applications. Our mission is to create the
online and mobile engines that capture user behavior and leverage
that behavior to create compelling user-led online and mobile web
experiences. We call it 'story-dwelling' instead of
'story-telling.'" Each of SpectrumDNA's applications are easily
configurable and brandable web and wireless-based network
experiences - Web X.0 applications - that empower users to take
active, measurable roles in their community. These Digital
Networked Applications and engines of engagement enable media
outlets and advertisers to cost-effectively capture specific
audience behaviors and develop advertiser-safe, user-generated and
user-marketed content. "This is a truly paradigm shifting-company
with a proven concept and ROI which makes it a very interesting
account for our portfolio of clients," said Todd Fromer, managing
partner, KCSA Strategic Communications. "Our integrated approach
will ensure that both the media and investment community are keenly
aware of the trailblazing applications coming from SpectrumDNA's
digital studio." About SpectrumDNA Based in Park City, Utah,
SpectrumDNA, Inc. is a digital studio that creates social
applications that are engines of engagement (or "enginets"),
empowering users to take an active, measurable role in their online
communities. These private-label applications can be easily

specific audience behaviors, and to develop advertiser-safe
user-generated and user-marketed content. Enginets can be leveraged
for both short-term promotions and for building long-term assets,
