France Telecom, SFR To Avoid Overlaps In French Optical Fiber

France Telecom (FTE) and SFR, the telecoms operator division of
Vivendi (VIVEF), said Tuesday they have signed an agreement for the
deployment of optical fiber networks outside very densely-populated
areas of France.
MAIN FACTS:
- The two operators want to avoid network overlaps as they
deploy their optic fiber networks in France.
- The 11 million households outside very dense areas that are
covered by the fiber deployment plans drawn-up by France
Telecom-Orange and SFR include 9.8 million where both operators
have redundant deployment projects.
- Under the agreement, SFR will serve 2.3 million of these
households and France Telecom-Orange will serve 7.5 million.
