WARSAW--Poland's anti-trust authority, UOKiK, said Friday it had
approved two transactions by Groupe Canal Plus, owned by France's
Vivendi SA (VIV.FR), to acquire a stake in Polish broadcaster TVN
SA (TVN.WA) and to merge its Polish pay-television business with
TVN's pay-TV subsidiary.
Canal Plus said in November 2011 it planned to acquire a
significant minority stake in N-Vision B.V., the parent company of
Polish Television Holding B.V., which in turn holds a 51% stake in
TVN.
TVN and Canal Plus also said they planned to merge their Polish
pay-TV businesses into a joint venture in which TVN would have a
significant minority stake.
