Premier Transmission Financing PLC

NEWS Release:
Thursday 25 September 2008
Premier Transmission Financing plc wishes to announce changes to the Board of its ultimate parent company Northern Ireland Energy
Holdings Ltd.
Northern Ireland Energy Holdings appoints new Chairman (designate) and Non-Executive Director
Northern Ireland Energy Holdings (NIEH), operators of the Moyle Electricity interconnector and the Scotland-Northern Ireland gas
transmission pipeline (SNIP), has appointed Peter Warry as Chairman-designate and Gerry Walsh as a Non-executive Director. This brings the
number of Board members back up to six following the resignations of David Montgomery and Nuala Sheeran.
The company endorsed the appointment of its new Chairman-designate at its AGM held in Belfast. Mr Warry brings a wealth of experience in
industry, government and regulatory spheres and is an advocate of the mutualised business model that NIEH operates (where operating
efficiencies are used for the long term benefit of energy consumers rather than to private shareholders).
Gerry Walsh is the former Chief Executive of Bord Gs Eireann in the Republic of Ireland and brings a lifetime of experience in the
natural gas industry. He will bring a first hand experience of the Irish gas market and public affairs in the Irish Republic.
Both New Directors are appointed to the Boards of Premier Transmission Financing plc, Moyle Interconnector (Financing) plc and Belfast
Gas Transmission Financing plc.
Notes:
Biog: Peter Warry
Peter Warry is a graduate in Engineering & Economics from Oxford University. He has held a number of high profile posts in industry and
the energy sector. As Commercial Director of British Energy in 1995, he was responsible for all the company's electricity trading
activities. Later, as Senior Industrial Advisor to OFGEM, he was asked by the Regulator to conduct the 1990/2000
Efficiency Review of the GB electricity sector. He has been an Non-executive Director of Thames Water. His ability to bridge government
and industry is illustrated in his NED role in the Office of the Rail Regulator; and, more recently, the Government report he produced on
the economic value of research ("The Warry Report").
Biog: Gerry Walsh
Gerry Walsh served as Chief Executive and Member of the Board of Bord Gs from 2000 until 2007. He joined Bord Gs in 1986 and held a
number of senior management roles in utility operations and was previously Head of Strategic Development. He is a Member of the Board of the
Energy Institute.
