                  Entry into agency agreement with AstraZeneca





Alliance Boots plc announces that its UK wholesale business, UniChem, has
entered into an agreement with AstraZeneca to act as its agency partner to
deliver its prescription medicines directly to pharmacies, dispensing doctors
and hospitals across the UK. Under AstraZeneca's new medicine supply
arrangements, UniChem will act as one of two agency partners. These new supply
arrangements are expected to be implemented during the third quarter of 2007.
