Transaction in own shares

On 19 March 2012,Absolute Return Trust Limited (the "Company") purchased its own shares at the following price:

Sterling shares 202,000 at GBP1.09

These Sterling shares will be cancelled.

Following this purchase and cancellation the Company's issued share capital will consist of the following:

   Sterling shares               163,724,429 
   Euro shares                   9,597,097

The total number of shares with voting rights in the Company will therefore be 173,321,526.

The above figure (173,321,526) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
