                               Holding in Company 
African Diamonds plc ("AFD") announces that it received notification on 12 April 
2010 that De Beers Société Anonyme has an interest in 3,423,293 shares in AFD as 
at 8 April 2010.  This holding remains unchanged but the notification is made as 
a result of the dilution of the percentage shareholding following the recent 
issue of equity by AFD.  This holding represents 3.5% of AFD's ordinary share 
capital currently in issue.
