                    Holding(s) in Company and Issue of Equity

The Board of Allied Gold announces that it was informed on 3 April 2008 that FMR
LLC and FIL, being associated parties hold the total voting rights attaching to
32,477,301 ordinary shares in the share capital of the Company representing
8.66% of the total voting rights in the Company.

The Company also announces that a total of 20,000 Fully Paid Ordinary Shares
were issued pursuant to an exercise options at $0.50 per share. The Shares will
rank, pari passu, with all existing ordinary shares, and trading of the Shares
on AIM is expected to commence on 9 April 2008.

This brings the total shares on issue to 374,853,613 and total Options over
Ordinary Shares to 6,903,261, approximately 1.84% of the issued share capital.
