Today FORT WORTH, Texas, July 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- American
Way magazine, the award-winning inflight magazine of American
Airlines, recently launched the 8th Annual American Way Road
Warrior Contest. All it takes to be a contender is to visit
http://www.americanwaymag.com/roadwarrior by Aug. 31, and fill out
a simple survey, as well as complete a series of fun tasks set
forth by the American Way editors. The top five Road Warrior
finalists will be chosen by the American Way editorial staff and
then American Way readers will determine the Grand Prize, Second
Prize, and Third Prize winners by voting online for their favorite
contestant. Over the past seven years, over 50,000 travelers have
entered the contest in hopes of winning the coveted Road Warrior
title and amazing prizes, which this year include a Grand Prize of
2 million Hilton HHonors bonus points and 1 million AAdvantage
bonus miles. One Second Prize consists of one Bose Lifestyle 48 DVD
home entertainment system, one Bose Wave music system, one pair of
Bose QuietComfort 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones, and one
five-night trip for two to the Hilton Papagayo Resort & Spa in
Costa Rica from Hilton Caribbean. Three Third Prizes include a
three-night vacation for two to the Hilton Papagayo Resort &
Spa in Costa Rica from Hilton Caribbean. All five winners will
receive a Verizon BlackBerry Storm(TM) smartphone and a $100
Verizon gift card. And all five of the newest Road Warriors will be
featured on the cover and throughout the March 15, 2010, issue of
American Way with their travel tales, photos, and more. "We know
how hectic it can be when you spend your life on the road," said
Adam Pitluk, editor of American Way. "So we want to reward five
true Road Warriors with the fame and fortune they deserve for all
their hard work." Being a veteran traveler means experiencing all
kinds of adventures, which help make a true Road Warrior stronger,
smarter, and more equipped to take on the next travel challenge.
This year, in addition to answering a series of travel-related
multiple choice questions, entrants will share their personal Top 8
reasons they feel they are a true road warrior. Contestants will
also be asked to choose their favorite album and compose an
original travel adventure story, using the album title, the artist
or band name, and all the song titles throughout the story. Entries
for the 8th Annual American Way Road Warrior Search will be
accepted until Aug. 31, 2009, at 11:59 p.m. CDT. The entry form and
Official Rules are available online at
http://www.americanwaymag.com/roadwarrior. Winners will be
announced in the March 15, 2010, issue of American Way. About
