                      AMENDMENT TO THE CLOSING DATE OF THE

                       OFFER TO ARCHIPELAGO SHAREHOLDERS

                           TO APPLY FOR SECURITIES IN

                           ARCHIPELAGO METALS LIMITED







Archipelago Resources plc ("Archipelago" or the "Company") has extended the
Closing Date for acceptance of Offers for shares and options in Archipelago
Metals Limited from 5.00pm 7 February 2008 to 5.00pm on Friday, 15 February
2008.



This extension is considered necessary as it has come to the Company's attention
that Security Transfer Registrars Pty Ltd, the Australian company appointed to
manage the Offer has incorrectly addressed Offers to certain shareholders
entitled to participate in the Offer.



Offers will be re-mailed to shareholders today and the covering letter will be
available on the Company's website.



The Company apologises for any inconvenience caused by the mailing error to
those shareholders who have not previously received the Offer and for any
confusion caused to those shareholders who have already received the Offer.



In addition, to assist eligible shareholders to participate in the Offer, the
Company will accept as an alternative to payment in Sterling, payment in the
equivalent local currency of the registered shareholder as determined on the
Record Date (close of business on 14 January 2008).
