                 Restricted Shares Eligible to be De-restricted





Stamford, CT -   December 12, 2007 - Clean Diesel Technologies, Inc. ("Clean
Diesel" or the "Company") (NASDQ: CDTI; AIM: CDT/CDTI; XETRA: CDI), the provider
of innovative solutions that reduce emissions, conserve fuel and improve engine
performance, advises its stockholders holding restricted Clean Diesel shares
(AIM:  CDTI) (ISIN:  USU182471115)  (CEDOL:  B1YXGF8) that the certificates
evidencing such restricted shares are now eligible to be de-restricted because
they have either been in issue for more than two years or are otherwise covered
by Clean Diesel's effective registration statement.



Holders of Clean Diesel restricted shares may send their certificates to the
Transfer Agent at:

and request that those certificates be exchanged for new certificates free of
the restrictive legends, or if appropriate, for their shares to be entered into
the Crest electronic settlement system.



Except for Clean Diesel Affiliates (directors, officers and 10% beneficial
stockholders who may sell subject to certain time and volume limitations), the
shares after the certificates are exchanged may be freely traded worldwide as
ordinary common shares.
