China Green Agriculture, Inc. Receives Green Food Production Material Trademark for Humic Acid Based Fertilizer Products
June 18 2009 - 3:15PM
PR Newswire (US)
XI'AN, China, June 18 /PRNewswire-Asia-FirstCall/ -- China Green
Agriculture, Inc. (NYSE Amex Equities: CGA; "China Green
Agriculture" or "the Company"), a leading producer and distributor
of humic acid ("HA") based liquid compound fertilizer through its
wholly owned subsidiary, Shaanxi TechTeam Jinong Humic Acid Product
Co., Ltd., announced that it has received the Green Food Production
Material trademark for its humic acid based liquid compound
fertilizer products. The trademark has a three-year term and was
issued by the China Green Food Development Center (CGFDC), an
agency of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) of the People's
Republic of China. The "Green Food Production Material trademark"
is granted to qualifying products from producers of pesticides,
fertilizers, food and feed additives, veterinary drugs, and
packaging materials that meet a high quality standard for efficacy
and safety in the green food market serving China. Founded in 1992
and headquartered in Beijing, CGFDC is an agency of the MOA and
recently merged with the Green Food Management Office of the MOA.
Through its 42 provincial and municipal branches, 38 quality
inspection stations, and 71 environmental monitoring branches, the
CGFDC is commissioned to provide quality control and regulate food
policy to address the rising environmental and food safety concerns
in China. Currently, CGFDC provides two different trademarks within
the Green Food industry: One is called the "Green Food trademark"
which is granted to edible foods and the other is called the "Green
Food Production Material trademark" which is granted to production
materials that meet its strict criteria. These criteria include
standards that increase human safety and ecological protection of
the environmental, in addition to promoting non-polluting product
growth and the use of non-genetically modified raw materials.
Previous to July 2007, the two categories mentioned above were
combined into one trademark, the "Green Food trademark." In an
effort to improve social sustainable development and optimize the
regulation of policy for the green food industry, CGFDC separated
the trademark into two independently granted trademarks. "We are
pleased to have reached the highest industry standard for each of
our 131 branded products which utilize our proprietary humic acid
solution. This designation is a clear differentiator and provides
confidence from our customers," stated Mr. Tao Li, Chairman and CEO
of China Green Agriculture. "According to the Ecology Institute of
Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Chinese farmers
use approximately 41 million tons of chemical fertilizers every
year, for an average of more than 400kg per hectare of farmland;
far above the safe limit of 225 kg per hectare in developed
countries. As a result, chemical residue buildup has rapidly
decreased soil quality on Chinese farms, adversely affecting
agricultural output and increasing environmental concerns." Mr. Li
concluded, "To address this issue, China Green Agriculture's
fertilizer products contain humic acid that substantially increases
the fertility of soil and promotes overall plant development, while
meeting the highest government standards for safety and quality
control." About China Green Agriculture, Inc. China Green
