SHARE BUYBACK



Following the announcement on 14th August 2006 that Charlton Athletic plc (the "
Company") was seeking a cancellation of its listing on AIM and in accordance
with the authority granted at the Annual General Meeting on 18th January 2006,
the Company announces today that it made on market purchases on 21st August 2006
of 30,000 ordinary shares of 50p each in the issued share capital of the Company
at a price of 38p per Ordinary Share. These shares have been purchased for
cancellation.



The issued share capital of the Company will subsequently be 64,027,626.
