SHARE BUYBACK

Following the announcement on 6th September that Charlton Athletic plc (the 
"Company") had received approval from shareholders for the cancellation of its
listing on AIM and in accordance with the authority granted at the Annual
General Meeting on 18th January 2006, the Company announces that on 15 September
2006 the Company made on market purchases of 75,000 ordinary shares of 50p each
in the issued share capital of the Company at a price of 42p per Ordinary Share.
These shares have been purchased for cancellation.

The issued share capital of the Company will subsequently be 63,912,626.
