    DIRECTORATE CHANGE AND TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF TRADING ON AIM

    The Board of Canton Property Investment Limited (AIM: CPIL) regrets to announce that Mr Keng Wong, Executive Chairman of the Company,
has recently been absent from the Company and uncontactable.  A meeting of the Board was held yesterday in order to address the situation,
however no agreement was reached to appoint an interim chairman. Accordingly, Sir David Brewer, non executive director of the Company,
yesterday resigned from the Board with immediate effect and Mr Dennis Yau, Chief Financial Officer, intends to resign from the Board with
effect from 6 October 2008.
    In the meantime, the Board is currently exploring a number of options in order to cover the Company's short term funding requirements
while it negotiates long term finance for the construction of the Mall of Canton and the Canton Finance Centre.  
    Given the uncertainty in relation to the above matters, the Company's shares will be suspended from trading on AIM with immediate
effect.  A further announcement will be made in due course.
