                                    SFO UPDATE

The Serious Fraud Office has today charged Goldshield Group Plc ("Goldshield")
in connection with its investigation into the market for the anti-coagulant
drug, warfarin, in the period November 1996 to October 1999.

Goldshield denies that it has acted in a way that was unlawful or improper and
remains entirely confident that it will be acquitted of the charge against it.
