HENDERSON FAR EAST INCOME TRUST PLC

As at close of business on 7 December 2006, the unaudited net asset value per
share calculated in accordance with the AIC formula (excluding current financial
year revenue items) was 232.4p.

As a result of approval of a special dividend payment at yesterday's
Extraordinary General Meeting of Henderson Far East Income Trust plc the above
figure for the unaudited net asset value per share takes into account for the
first time the 8.5p special dividend payment and the unaudited income earned by
the company to date.
