Appointment of Chairman
Dimitri Goulandris becomes Non Executive Chairman
Helesi plc (AIM: HLS), the Greece and UK based waste management products
manufacturer and services supplier, is pleased to announce the appointment of
Dimitri John Goulandris, 42, as Non Executive Chairman with immediate effect.
Dimitri replaces Sakis Andrianopoulos, Chief Executive, who has been acting as
Interim Chairman since the unexpected death of Roger Parsons last August.
Dimitri is Managing Partner of Cycladic Capital LLP. He set up Cycladic Capital
in November 2002 to focus on making public and private investments in small and
medium sized companies predominantly in Europe. Cycladic's range of activity has
spanned significant-influence stakes in public companies, growth and buyout
private equity and greenfield start-ups. Today, the Firm has three related
activities: fund management, direct investment and corporate advisory.
Previously, Dimitri set up and ran the European operations of the private equity
firm Whitney & Company and spent eight years at Morgan Stanley in the private
equity group, structuring derivative products and executing mergers and
acquisitions both in New York and in London.
Dimitri has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Masters in Electrical and
Information Sciences from Cambridge University.
Dimitri is currently a director of Cycladic Capital Management Limited, Cycladic
(Cayman) Limited, Cycladic India Rentals, Journey Group plc, Knightsbridge
School Limited, Knightsbridge Schools International Limited, Liberty
International NV, Milos Limited, Mood Media Group SA, Teleplan International NV
and Whiteground Limited. He also sits on the Council of the Institute of
Contemporary Arts in London.
Dimitri was previously, within the last five years, a director of Azkoyen SA,
Forthnet SA, Mykonos Limited, Permasteelisa SpA and Volex plc. Dimitri was also
director of Sportal Limited in 2001 which was placed in receivership.
There is no further information that would require disclosure under Schedule Two
paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules.
Commenting on the appointment, Sakis Andrianopoulos, Chief Executive of Helesi

wealth of international investment experience and will be a great asset to our

About Helesi
Helesi is a specialist designer and manufacturer of plastic products mainly for
use in the waste management industry and a provider of waste management
services. The Group has production facilities located in Greece and the UK and
is constructing a third in Italy.
Its activities comprise:
* the design and manufacture of plastic waste containers including 2 and 4 wheeled
bins, pre-sorting bins and the full range of EN 840 standard containers;
* the provision of waste management services (waste collection, container washing,
street sweeping and recyclable materials collection).
* the design and manufacture of material handling plastic products (pallet boxes
and crates) for agricultural, domestic and industrial use and other
injection-moulding plastic products such as fish crates, and stadium seats;
* the supply of special vehicles and equipment for the waste management industry;
and
* the recycling of used tyres
Demand for Helesi's products and services in developed waste management markets
is driven by increasingly stringent regulation on waste management and
recycling. Growing demand is also being experienced in developing countries,
which are looking to establish centralised and orderly waste management
services. Helesi has developed a strong market position in both the developed
waste management markets of Western Europe as well as in the high growth markets
of South-eastern Europe, the Mediterranean and the Middle East. With sales in 52
countries, the Company derives more than 70% of its waste container revenue
internationally.
