UPDATE ON WORK STOPPAGE AT IMPALA RUSTENBURG 
 
Implats wishes to advise that approximately 13 000 mining employees who 
participated in the illegal work stoppage at Impala Rustenburg which started on 
Monday, 30 January 2012, and who failed to return to work by the deadline of 
Wednesday, 1 February 2012, have been dismissed. This brings the total number 
of employees dismissed to in the region of 17 200. A process of rehiring for 
those employees who wish to reapply for their positions will be undertaken in 
due course.
