Letter to Company Announcements Office

As we continue to implement the recommendations of the Consumer Demand and Brand
Development Team we have recognised that we need to sharpen our consumer
marketing focus and delineate more clearly marketing roles and responsibilities
at global, regional and local levels. We are currently finalising details. In
light of this ongoing effort and the direction that we propose to take James
Espey, President Seagram Global Marketing, has chosen to leave the Company.
During this period of transition James has agreed to remain as Chairman, Seagram
Distillers PLC.
