                      WHAM ENERGY ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT
                            OF AN EXPLORATION MANAGER

WHAM Energy plc ("WHAM" or "the Company"), the North Sea specialist oil and gas
exploration company, has appointed Doctor Andrew Mortimer BSc MA as Exploration
Manager. Dr Mortimer has extensive experience of the oil and gas exploration
sector. Prior to joining WHAM he worked for LASMO and Eni. He has worked
extensively in the North Sea, Indonesia and the Gulf of Mexico and has valuable
experience of planning and submitting successful licence applications to secure
further blocks available for exploration.

Tom Windle CEO of WHAM Energy said,

of the Southern North Sea and other UK Continental Shelf hydrocarbon basins will
enhance our expertise and further strengthen our technical evaluations.

Andrew will also co-ordinate our future exploration initiatives identifying
prospective acreage in the forthcoming 24th licence round. We believe his
previous involvement in the technically demanding process of licence rounds will
add considerable weight to the team at WHAM. I have known Andrew for many years
and we are delighted that he chose to join us. He is well known to both me and
my colleagues and has previously worked with Alex Strong who joined us in
October 2005.

Biography:

Dr. Mortimer obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in geology from Aston University
before completing a Masters in Petroleum Geology at Imperial College London.
Andrew gained a Doctorate in the geology studying the Carboniferous strata
beneath the UK sector of the Southern North Sea, sponsored by LASMO.

In 1991 Andrew formally joined LASMO working as an exploration geologist. During
that time he gained considerable experience evaluating the hydrocarbon potential
of many UK continental shelf basins, including the Southern North Sea, Irish Sea
, and West of Shetland basins.

In 1999 Andrew was transferred to LASMO Indonesia and following the acquisition
of LASMO by Eni he became responsible for coordinating Eni's considerable new
ventures in the region. At the end of this assignment, Andrew transferred to
Eni's Houston office in 2004, evaluating the deep water, sub-salt plays of the
Gulf of Mexico. During this time Andrew was involved in 4 licence rounds that
yielded a substantial number of new blocks for Eni.
