Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ:BORL), the global leader for
Software Delivery Optimization, today announced that it has been
positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the leaders quadrant of its
Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA&D) Tools, 2H06 to 1H07
Magic Quadrant(i) report. Gartner reports that OOA&D tools are
now well into mainstream use, and expects continued growth in the
number of industry licenses during the next two to five years. "We
believe our positioning in the leaders quadrant highlights
Borland's ongoing leadership in modeling, and is yet another
recognition for Borland's ability to deliver products and solutions
that support software teams throughout the software lifecycle,"
said Dave Hauck, director of product marketing, Borland. "The
ease-of-use and completeness of Borland Together(R) enables
organizations to implement strong modeling and visual design
processes in their software efforts, which can significantly
increase their ability to deliver high quality software." Borland's
Together modeling suite helps bridge the gap between business and
IT organizations through a common set of visual modeling languages,
providing comprehensive application modeling support for business
analysts, designers, architects and developers. With support for
business process modeling, data modeling, application modeling and
visualization, and comprehensive audits and metrics for both models
and code, Together helps accelerate the delivery of adaptable,
high-quality software applications. The latest release of the
product which began shipping last week, Together 2006 for Visual
Studio, is integrated with Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005
Professional Edition. The release provides comprehensive modeling
support for Visual Studio users including UML 2.0 diagramming,
patterns, and Borland LiveSource((R)) capabilities for C# and
Visual Basic languages. The Together technology also plays a key
role within Borland's Requirements Definition and Management
product suite, Caliber Analyst, providing business analysts with a
visual way to define and storyboard business and technical
requirements. The integration between Together and Caliber Analyst
provides the ability to generate UML diagrams when eliciting
requirements and then leverage these design assets in Together to
drive software implementation and track design decisions back to
the original requirements. For more information on Borland ALM
