Denmark plans to issue 65 billion Danish kroner ($9.57 billion) in government bonds in 2024, targeting the same volume as in 2023, the central bank said Wednesday.

A further DKK35 billion will be issued for the central government's short-term loan programs, also unchanged from 2023, it said.

Besides borrowing on the domestic market, Denmark plans to issue a short-term foreign-currency bond next year under the government's euro medium-term note, or EMTN, program, it said.

The focus will continue to be on issuance in two- and 10-year nominal bonds, supplemented with issuance in the 10-year green government bond and the inflation-linked government bond, it said.

Denmark will launch a new two-year, 2026-dated government bond in the first quarter of next year, it said. This bond will replace the 1.75% November 2025 bond as the two-year on-the-run issue.
