U.S. Corn Export Inspections Rise

Export inspections of U.S. corn rose for the week ended Jan. 4,
according to the latest data from the U.S. Department of
Agriculture.
In its latest weekly grain export inspections report, the USDA
said U.S. corn inspections totaled 856,597 metric tons, up from
567,857 tons reported last week. Wheat inspections also were
higher, rising to 491,074 tons from 276,433 tons at this time last
week.
Meanwhile, soybeans and wheat were down from the previous week,
totaling 674,749 tons for the week compared with 969,494 tons a
week earlier.
Year-to-date, soybean and wheat inspections were below this time
last marketing year with soybeans 21% down from last year and wheat
down 16%. Corn was up 28% from the previous year.
Most-active CBOT corn is down 1.7%, while soybeans are down 1.3%
and wheat is down 3.1%.
