GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy Monday said it has signed initial pacts with state-run Nuclear Power Corp. of India and Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (500103.BY) to build an advanced boiling water reactor power station in India.

Under the pact, GE Hitachi along with Nuclear Power Corp. and BHEL will plan for manufacturing and construction management of a potential multiple-unit ABWR nuclear power station, it said in a statement.

GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy is a joint venture between General Electric Co. (GE) and Hitachi Ltd. (HIT).
