Company to Offer Medically Supervised Weight Management Program to Large Regional Employer DALLAS, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Crdentia Corp. (OTC:CRDT) (BULLETIN BOARD: CRDT) , a leading U.S. provider of healthcare staffing services, today announced that Sound Health Solutions has signed an agreement with Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center of Seattle (Children's) to offer a medically supervised weight management pilot program to Children's employees and spouses beginning in January 2007. Sound Health Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of iVOW, Inc., which in a previously announced transaction, is being acquired by Crdentia. Sound Health Solutions provides a nationally acclaimed weight management program for individual patients and also serves as the preferred provider for corporations. Under terms of the agreement with Children's, the pilot program is limited to the first 50 Children's employees, spouses or domestic partners who are enrolled in one of Children's medical plans. The program is open to participants with a Body Mass Index (BMI) greater than or equal to 27 with two co-morbidities; or a BMI greater than or equal to 30. The program requires 24-weeks of in-clinic participation followed by one year of maintenance through an interactive web based program. In addition, each program has 5 years of clinical follow-up. Children's will cover a majority of the treatment costs for participants. Jim Durham, Crdentia's Chairman and CEO, commented, "We are pleased to announce that Sound Health Solutions will be working with employees of Children's Hospital & Regional Medical Center of Seattle to offer a pilot weight management program. Rising health care costs are a concern for all corporations, and obesity is a significant contributor to increased costs and chronic disease. Children's is among a growing number of progressive employers to recognize the positive impact of conservative intervention on employee health and the compelling return on investment that can be generated by programs from Sound Health Solutions." Seattle-based Sound Health Solutions offers customized medically managed weight loss programs for obese patients. Sound Health Solutions' four-pronged program offers help in the following areas: * Physician Supervision -- Sound Health Solutions' medical doctors develop programs, evaluate patients and communicate with primary care providers. * Exercise -- Sound Health Solutions offers one-on-one sessions with highly qualified and certified personal trainers in a private, clinical setting. * Nutrition Education -- Sound Health Solutions' Registered Dieticians and Certified Diabetic Educators develop individualized approaches to help patients focus on healthful eating patterns for a lifetime, rather than temporary calorie and food restrictions. * Behavior Change -- Sound Health Solutions' licensed Clinical Psychologists and Mental Health Counselors help patients replace unhealthy habits with healthy ones in order to create a more positive lifestyle. Sound Health Solutions works with individual patients and also serves as the preferred provider of weight-management services for corporations. Since 1999, Sound Health Solutions has provided weight-management services to Microsoft Corporation and has treated hundreds of employees over that time. The weight-management program developed by Sound Health Solutions and Microsoft was subsequently administered by Premera Blue Cross, Microsoft's health-benefit administrator. Resent results from the Sound Health Solutions / Microsoft weight management program, including the program's return on investment, were presented earlier this summer at the Practical Approaches to the Treatment of Obesity Conference held at Harvard University. In 2005, this weight-management program was recognized as an innovative, forward-thinking strategy in the fight against obesity by the National Institute of Health Care Management, a non-profit, non-partisan health care management research and educational foundation. About Crdentia Corp. Crdentia Corp. is one of the nation's leading providers of healthcare staffing services. Crdentia seeks to capitalize on an opportunity that currently exists in the healthcare industry by targeting the critical nursing and allied shortage issue. There are many small, private companies that are addressing the rapidly expanding needs of the healthcare industry. Unfortunately, due to their relatively small capitalization, they are unable to maximize their potential, obtain outside capital or expand. By consolidating well-run small private companies into a larger public entity, Crdentia intends to facilitate access to capital, the acquisition of technology, providing greater diversity of client services and expanded distribution that, in turn, drive internal growth.
