Eagle Broadband, Inc. (AMEX:EAG), a leading provider of broadband,
Internet Protocol (IP) and communications technology and services,
announced today the latest addition to its SatMAX (Satellite Media
Access Extender) product line -- The SatMAX Alpha Emergency
Communications System (Alpha ECS). Earlier this week, Eagle
announced a distribution agreement for the SatMAX Alpha ECS with
World Communication Center (WCC), a leading provider of global
satellite voice and data communications solutions. The Alpha ECS is
a portable, Iridium based satellite phone emergency communications
system designed for disaster recovery, crisis management and
emergency preparedness. The Alpha ECS creates a satellite
communications "Hotspot" that enables users to make fully wireless,
satellite voice communications available from anywhere in the world
without requiring line-of-sight and which can interconnect
seamlessly with the public telephone system. It is ideal for any
organization that needs highly reliable primary, backup or
emergency voice communications including: first responders,
Homeland Security, Federal, State and Local Government Agencies as
well as corporations and enterprises. "We wanted to add a complete,
portable, all in one package, solution to our SatMAX product line
to allow for quick communications in the event of a natural
disaster or terrorist activity. During a crisis, it is critical to
have the flexibility of a "deployable instantly and anywhere"
reliable phone communications system," said Dave Micek, President
and CEO of Eagle Broadband. The portable Alpha ECS system contains
1 SatMAX unit, one high capacity battery, 3 Full Iridium Phone
Kits, A/C charger with Int'l plug adapters, car charger, leather
holster, antenna adapter, portable auxiliary antenna, earbud and
user manual. Also included is a standard minute plan that can be
upgraded if needed. The Alpha ECS system allows first responders to
stay connected in the harshest weather conditions. The technology
enables routine, mission critical and backup communications that
can improve safety and security, emergency preparedness and
response, user productivity, mobility, problem solving and mission
support. About Eagle Broadband's SatMAX Product Line: Eagle's
current patented SatMAX (Satellite Media Access Extender) offering
includes three models designed to offer reliable voice and data
communications in any non-line-of-sight environment: fixed
structure (rack mount) and the two portable Alpha products:
portable and the new "SatMAX in a suitcase" ECS. Eagle's SatMAX
systems use Iridium satellite technology and allow each member of
the emergency management team to communicate seamlessly inside and
outside buildings via satellite transmissions without the support
of landlines and/or cell towers. About Eagle Broadband Eagle
