                     MONTERRICO METALS PLC  ("THE COMPANY")


The Company announces that on 18th December 2003, one of its directors, Mr F Z
Haller, concluded the transfer of 200,000 Ordinary shares of 10p each in the
capital of the Company, for #270,000.  The transaction, which was initiated on
or around 15th November 2003, has resulted in Mr Haller's direct and indirect
shareholding in the capital of the Company to increase to 548,339 Ordinary
shares of 10p each amounting to 2.7% of the issued Ordinary share capital of the
Company.



As a result of this transaction Torre International Holding Inc., no longer has
a notifiable interest in the issued Ordinary share capital of the Company.
