CORRECT: GM Denies Problems In Finding Saab Automobile Buyers
January 09 2009 - 7:06AM
Dow Jones News
General Motors Corp. Thursday dismissed reports that it hasn't
found any interested buyers for Saab Automobile AB, as it has
quietly shopped around the Swedish brand.
The Swedish government has announced plans to provide up to
$3.19 billion in credit guarantees and emergency loans to Saab and
Volvo Car Corporation, which Ford Motor Co. put up for sale last
month in a bid to raise additional funds.
(In "GM Denies Problems In Finding Saab Buyers," published at
0231 GMT, the story incorrectly referred to Swedish truckmaker
Volvo AB and Swedish aerospace and defense company Saab AB.)
