Cross Emergency Preparedness Program 'Prepare Colorado' Campaign

/PRNewswire/ -- The next time a natural disaster occurs in
Colorado, more of its residents will have the tools and education
to act. The StorageTek Foundation today provided the American Red
Cross with a two-year, $50,000 corporate sponsorship supporting the
agency's "Prepare Colorado" emergency preparedness campaign.
StorageTek, through its StorageTek Foundation, presented the first
$25,000 check to the American Red Cross during a news conference
today, held to launch the statewide educational program. The
program encompasses emergency planning;using an emergency kit;
applying first aid, CPR and other life-saving skills; volunteering
to help those in need; and giving blood. "StorageTek Foundation
supports the objective of the 'Prepare Colorado' campaign, which is
to become the best disaster-prepared state in the union," said Pat

discuss and launch the "Prepare Colorado" campaign, at the American
Red Cross Mile High Chapter in downtown Denver. The "Prepare
Colorado" public awareness campaign is a statewide effort designed
to establish Colorado as a national model for the prevention of,
planning for and response to natural and man-made disasters and
emergencies. The program, offered in English and Spanish, provides
practical, easy-to- follow procedures that allow Colorado residents
to be prepared for unforeseen events, such as wildfires, blizzards
or other disasters. The campaign aims to increase awareness and
understanding of the importance of emergency preparation so that as
many Colorado residents as possible have a disaster plan and kit
prepared for unexpected circumstances. Since 1991, the StorageTek
