600 restaurants across the country donated a
portion of total sales to local Clubs as part of Team Up for Kids
initiative
Buffalo Wild Wings® restaurants across the country raised nearly
$370,000 on Community Day to support their local Boys & Girls
Clubs as part of the Team Up for Kids™ initiative. Six hundred
participating restaurants donated 10 percent of their total
in-restaurant sales during the April 9 fundraiser to a Club in
their local community. Guests also had the opportunity to make
additional donations.
The restaurants hosted a variety of fun activities to encourage
Guest participation in Community Day, such as raffle drawings for
prizes, a rubber duck derby, neighborhood safety presentations and
one general manager even walked on a treadmill all day to encourage
Guests to sponsor him through additional donations. Local Boys
& Girls Clubs participated at many restaurants with information
booths and, at some locations, Boys & Girls Club cheer teams
performed routines for Guests.
“On behalf of Buffalo Wild Wings, we’d like to extend a
heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all of our Guests who came out to support
their local Boys & Girls Clubs,” said Mary Twinem, executive
vice president and chief financial officer of Buffalo Wild Wings.
“Through Community Day, we were able to support local Clubs in
hundreds of communities where we do business. This local support is
a valuable complement to our national ALL STARS program with Boys
& Girls Clubs of America (BGCA), and it helped our restaurants
connect with their local Clubs and build a foundation for
additional support in the future.”
Now in its second year, Buffalo Wild Wings’ partnership with
BGCA supports youth sports through ALL STARS grants for flag and
tackle football and cheer teams at hundreds of Boys & Girls
Clubs across the country. Buffalo Wild Wings donated more than $1.5
million in 2013 to BGCA and will donate at least $1 million each
year through 2016. In 2014, Buffalo Wild Wings’ partnership will
enable more than 25,000 kids to participate on flag and tackle
football and cheer teams.
