DUBLIN, Ireland (February 04, 2025) -
Trinity Biotech plc (Nasdaq: TRIB), a commercial-stage biotechnology company focused on human diagnostics and diabetes management solutions, including wearable biosensors, today provided a positive update on funding by the U.S. government for HIV
testing programs that utilize the Company’s two rapid HIV tests.
The Company welcomes reports that on February 1, 2025, the U.S. Department of State issued a memo confirming that a waiver providing for
continued funding for HIV testing under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) was authorized pursuant to the 28 January 2025 waiver issued by the Secretary of State. The waiver relates to a pause in foreign aid pursuant to the
U.S. President’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid.
Other testing programs that utilize the Company’s two rapid HIV tests have been largely or wholly unaffected by the President’s Executive
Order.
Trinity Biotech looks forward to continuing to work with its HIV testing partners in supporting HIV testing efforts under the PEPFAR and
other programs.
