Nokia Siemens Networks, the wireless network joint venture of
Nokia Corp. (NOK) and Siemens AG (SI), said Thursday it has signed
a deal with China Mobile Ltd. (CHL) for the deployment of Time
Division Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) networks in three Chinese
cities by the end of 2012.
MAIN FACTS:
-Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy its TD-LTE 8-pipe radio and
Flexi Multiradio Base Stations.
-It will also assist China Mobile with its Circuit Switched
Fallback (CSFB) technology testing in Hangzhou.
-The deployment is part of China Mobile's pre-commercial trial
of its fourth generation TD-LTE network.
-China Mobile is expanding its TD-LTE network trial in 13 cities
by the end of this year.
-NSN has previously deployed TD-LTE for China Mobile in
large-scale trials in Hangzhou and Xiamen.
