Kids Can Enter to Win a Trip for Two to Tour the U.S. Mint in
Denver PHOENIX, June 20 /PRNewswire/ -- From the Grand Canyon to a
saguaro cactus, many residents are sharing their design ideas for
Arizona's commemorative quarter, which will debut in 2008. To
further promote the quarter design process, M&I Bank has
created a special enter-to-win program for kids. From today through
July 12, M&I Bank is inviting children ages 5 to 11 to one of
its 42 bank locations to share their design ideas for the Arizona
quarter. In addition to displaying the quarter designs at all of
its branch locations, M&I Bank will submit all entries to the
Arizona State Quarter Commission by July 15. The state advisory
commission, headed by Governor Janet Napolitano, is charged with
selecting the design for the Arizona State quarter, which is among
the last to be issued in the U.S. Mint's 50 State Quarters Program.
Every child who submits a design to M&I Bank will receive a
"Save & Spend Wisely" coloring book and coin purse. On July 12,
each M&I Bank location will randomly draw the name of one
participant, who will win a roll of quarters and a commemorative
quarter book. These participants will then be entered into a
grand-prize drawing trip for two to tour the U.S. Mint in Denver.
"M&I Bank is inviting young children to have fun with the
Arizona quarter design program by submitting their unique designs,"
said Dennis Jones, president and chairman for M&I Bank,
Arizona. "It allows them to unleash their creativity, and it's a
great opportunity to learn how money is made and why it's important
to save." Each M&I Bank location will provide entry forms and a
small area for children to complete their artwork. Children ages 5
to 11 are encouraged to participate. To be entered in the drawings,
a parent or guardian must sign and complete the entry form. Though
there are no design guidelines for M&I Bank's quarter program,
the U.S. Mint strictly prohibits pictures of people, state flags
and seals on the commemorative quarters. For more information, the
general public is invited to call M&I Bank at (480) 558-6360.
