Charleston sought scalable planning, permitting
and licensing solution with GIS integration to support operational
goals
Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed an agreement
with the city of Charleston, South Carolina, for its EnerGov®
planning, permitting and licensing software solution after
conducting a competitive review. EnerGov was chosen to help the
city simplify its operations and work-management processes. The
agreement includes software licenses, implementation services,
related professional services and support.
Charleston selected EnerGov because it met the city’s
requirement for a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) system that is
scalable to meet future business needs. Tyler’s EnerGov solution
will expand the city’s public access availability with Web-enabled
applications that support payment portals, electronic plan reviews
and public information requests. Additionally, EnerGov’s mobile
applications will provide Charleston staff with enhanced, real-time
access to data while in the field and its public maintenance
management suite will streamline the city’s work order and public
asset management processes.
“EnerGov will consolidate and standardize data from different
operational areas that managers, analysts and key stakeholders
across the enterprise can use to measure performance and support
decision-making,” said Charleston’s Chief Information Officer Wes
Ratterree. “We plan to streamline processes by establishing and
improving performance metrics and improving the accuracy of our
data, which will reduce operating costs, improve data quality and
reduce processing times. Overall, EnerGov will support our
city-customer partnership by providing methods that encourage
quality customer service, promote government transparency and add
value for the public.”
“EnerGov’s platform was designed specifically to connect
governments with customers, like those at the city of Charleston,
and to automate business processes to meet operational goals,” said
Brett Cate, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “Tyler
is committed to putting its clients first, working with them
directly during data conversion and implementation to ensure their
success. We look forward to a long partnership with
Charleston.”
The second most populous city in South Carolina, Charleston is
the county seat of Charleston County. The city has received many
accolades as a world-renowned destination and has a broad-based
economy focusing on tourism, technology, higher education, maritime
activities and small business. Charleston joins a growing list of
Tyler clients in South Carolina including the counties of
Georgetown, Horry, Charleston and Berkeley, the towns of Hilton
Head and Bluffton, and the cities of Columbia and Florence.
