                  Launch of "Carl Lewis Fitness" product range


Alba plc, the consumer electronics group, announces the launch of a range of
personal gym equipment for the home, under the brand "Carl Lewis Fitness".

The range of fitness equipment consists of over 20 new products including
treadmills, rowing machines, exercise bikes, skiers, step machines, dumbbell
trees and fat monitoring scales.

The Carl Lewis product range is competitively priced and will be available in
the shops in August 2003.  The products are designed to appeal to fitness
beginners as well as keep-fit enthusiasts.

Alba has created a new division, Carl Lewis Fitness, which will be based in
Barking.  The development of the division reflects the growing interest in
personal exercise and achieving a healthy lifestyle.  It also gives users the
flexibility to exercise in the comfort of their own home, avoiding the cost of
gym membership.
