Listing

ALBA PLC ("Alba" or "the Company")

Application has been made to The UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for block listings totalling 430,130 Ordinary shares of 10 pence each
("ordinary shares") to trade on the London Stock Exchange. These ordinary shares
are to be issued in connection with share options not covered under the block
listing, which the Company has in place.

The Block listings consist of 191,048 shares to be issued under the Executive
Share Option Scheme and 239,082 shares to be issued under the 1996 Executive
Share Option Scheme.

When the options have been exercised, the ordinary shares will be issued
credited as fully paid and will rank pari passu with the existing ordinary
shares of the Company.
