PR Newswire (US)
DETROIT, July 3 /PRNewswire/ -- DTE Energy -- the parent company of
Detroit Edison and MichCon -- said today that it is no longer
accepting or collecting utility bill payments at the homes or
businesses of customers. DTE Energy has historically collected
payments in the field from customers who are facing possible
disconnection of their utility service. The company has
discontinued the practice to provide a safer and more secure
payment environment for customers and employees. Detroit Edison and
MichCon customers should not make payments to anyone who comes to
their home or business claiming to be from DTE Energy. Customers
who have any questions or concerns related to bill payments or
collections should contact DTE Energy. DTE Energy customers can
make bill payments online, by phone, by mail or in person at
authorized payment agents. Additional information on payment
options and the locations of all payment agents is available at
http://www.my.dteenergy.com/ , or by calling (800) 477-4747.
