                         TRADING STATEMENT TO BE MADE AT
                       HUNTING PLC'S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING


                           WEDNESDAY, 30TH APRIL 2003


In the three months to 31st March this year, activity in Canada has been at a
record level which has compensated for the still relatively low level of rig
activity in the Gulf of Mexico.

When announcing our Preliminary Results we commented that the Oil and Gas
industry enters 2003 cautiously but with expectations that market conditions
will improve from the very difficult environment during 2002 and that if current
trends in activity continue, we anticipate an improved market environment during
this year.  This remains our view though international issues and significant
changes in energy prices could impact the outturn.  To-date we are in line with
our internal budgeted targets.
