SAN FRANCISCO, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Pacific Gas and Electric Company today announced that its Board of Directors has elected P.J. Martinez as vice president, transmission and substations. In this role, Martinez will be responsible for managing maintenance and construction activities for the utility's gas and electric transmission systems and electric distribution substations. His election will be effective July 21. Martinez brings nearly three decades of utility and operations experience to PG&E, most recently serving as vice president of operations for Entergy Corporation's Entergy Louisiana. In that capacity, he oversaw the company's distribution operations in Louisiana and led the company's restoration efforts after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Prior to that, Martinez served in various leadership roles in Entergy Corporation's global operations, including vice president of strategic initiatives, as well as developing the company's operations in Argentina, the U.K. and Australia. His previous experience includes management and engineering roles with Louisiana Power & Light.
