SNC-Lavalin chosen by New Brunswick for Restigouche Hospital PPP

MONTREAL, Oct. 11, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - SNC-Lavalin is pleased to
announce that the Rainbow Hospital Partnership, a general
partnership wholly-owned by SNC-Lavalin, has been awarded a
public-private partnership (PPP) contract by the Government of New
Brunswick for the design, construction, commissioning, financing
and certain operation and maintenance functions of the new
Restigouche Hospital Centre for psychiatric care in Campbellton,
New Brunswick. The new hospital, which will be designed to meet
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver
specifications, will be built by an SNC-Lavalin Construction-led
joint venture with a wholly owned subsidiary of Bird Construction
Inc. It will have 140 beds in seven in-patient units, and
facilities for education and research, clinical support, and
administration and general support services. It will also serve as
the forensic psychiatry facility for the province. SNC-Lavalin
Operations & Maintenance will provide operations and
maintenance services for the centre for a total of 30 years. "This
contract further expands our growing portfolio of PPP contracts,"

state-of-the-art acoustic concert hall and an ultra-modern hospital

Work is already underway and the centre is scheduled to open in
