TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2018 /CNW/ - Distinct Infrastructure Group Inc. ("Distinct", "DIG" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has been recognized by the Utility Contractors Association of Ontario (UCA) with the Association's 2018 Safety Performance Award.

Distinct Infrastructure Group Inc. (CNW Group/Distinct Infrastructure Group Inc.)

Each year the UCA recognizes contractors who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to safety and achieved outstanding safety results. This year DIG was recognized in the category of contractors with over 250,000 hours of work performed.

The UCA also recognized one of DIG's long term employee with the Safety Performance Award for his personal contribution to the Company's safety culture, and his leadership on safety issues.

"DIG's outstanding safety performance is a tribute to their industry-leading safety program and their dedication to ensuring a safe work environment," said Barry Brown, Executive Director of the Utility Contractor's Association of Ontario.

"We are honoured to be recognized as an industry leader in safety," said Joe Lanni, DIG's Co-CEO. "Safety is not only an important element of our business strategy, it is also at the core of our company culture and values. This achievement would not be possible without the dedication of our hard-working, conscientious employees."

"On behalf of the entire Distinct Infrastructure family, I'd like to congratulate our employee for receiving his award – it is well deserved," said Alex Agius, DIG's Co-CEO. "In the four years he has been with us, he has helped us create and improve our safety procedures, and is a passionate safety ambassador with his co-workers."
