Brachem Acquisition, an investment vehicle of BC Partners, Bain Capital and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (GS), said Thursday it sold an 8.7% stake in German chemicals distributor Brenntag AG (BNR.XE) in a transaction valued at approximately EUR315 million.

Brachem said it sold 4.5 million shares for EUR70 each to institutional investors, reducing the fund's stake in Brenntag to 27.3%.

At 0830 GMT, Brenntag shares traded 1.9% lower at EUR70.89.

Private equity funds advised by BC Partners, Bain Capital and Goldman Sachs have bundled their Brenntag shares at Brachem.

Brachem acquired Brenntag in September 2006, and sold a first stake in the company with an initial public offering in March 2010 at EUR50 per share.

Brachem said it won't reduce its stake further in the coming 90 days.
